The quick way: you expose on the day itself, pass the camera around over the following weeks, and develop it together at the next family gathering. Four seconds of exposure, two halves, one image to remember by.
The long way: expose for the sixtieth birthday today, close the camera with the seal sticker and a date, and keep it for the seventieth. Ten years of waiting become part of the gift. The same camera. You simply decide how long it stays silent.

Choose the wait
One camera, two ways: develop the image within a year, or seal it and wait for the next milestone. Same negative format, same optics, same Caffenol development; only the patience is yours to choose.

Hand over with a card
The camera comes with a card for you to write yourselves, plus instructions in three languages. Write down who should expose the second half and when you develop together.

Develop at the next gathering
Eight minutes in a kitchen, instant coffee, vitamin C, baking soda. Somebody was there, and you can see it.

Rather give a voucher?
Sometimes the choice should stay with the person you are giving to. A voucher arrives by email within a few minutes, with a card to print, and is valid for three calendar years.
Common questions
Is Both In Time a good fit for a kid’s birthday?
Honest answer: no. Kids’ birthdays are loud, fast, forgotten, and rightly so. Both In Time needs four seconds of steady hand and a few weeks of patience before development. For milestone birthdays from forty, fifty, sixty onwards, it fits well.
Can the same camera do a quick image and an image in ten years?
Yes, it is one and the same camera. You either develop it after a few weeks, or close it with the seal sticker and a date and open it only at the next milestone birthday. The optics, negative, and Caffenol development stay the same; only the waiting time is yours to decide.
Can we have the camera hand-lettered?
Yes, we hand-letter the camera, up to two lines (name, date, one short sentence). Please order at least three weeks before the occasion, because it is done by hand.
